Reach a New Height at Pikes Peak!About Pikes Peak and the ExcursionPikes Peak, the ultra-prominent 14,115 ‘fourteener’, is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. After admiring the view from the pinnacle of Pikes Peak, Katharine Lee Bates was inspired to write a poem that became the lyrics to the national anthem, “America the Beautiful.” WACUBO offers adventurers a once in a lifetime excursion to Pikes Peak summit aboard the newly restored Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The train will set out on a 9-mile journey (70 minutes) to Pikes Peak’s 14,115-ft summit with an average grade of 12°, and sometimes hitting a grade of 24°! Along the way, you’ll be treated to stories about the history of the region with exceptional 360° panoramic views of unique rock formations, high-elevation flora and fauna, pristine landscapes and historic landmarks. At the top of Pikes Peak, WACUBO adventurers will be given a block of time to explore the summit and take in the stunning sights. On a clear day, you can see five different states from the summit, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Kansas. The brand-new Summit House experience offers multiple points to take in the views, complete with interesting facts about the region. This excursion includes roundtrip transportation from The Broadmoor to the Cog Railway and a reserved seat with fellow WACUBO attendees on an all-WACUBO train car.
